Pondering War on ANZAC Day
I shall not be attending an ANZAC Dawn Service this year – 2020. Neither will anyone else as we stay in lock-down because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
They will beat their swords into ploughshares Is 2:4
In 2019 I prepared a Powerpoint presentation for a local Christian group.
If you have access to a Powerpoint application or equivalent you can look at the following files. The first two are fairly large files.
- You can get it at – Reality of War . The commentary is accessible by turning on Notes in Powerpoint on the presenting device.
- I have made rough attempts to get the essence of presentation by adding the commentary notes to the main Powerpoint file – Reality of War – 2020.
- This third file is much smaller (quicker to load), but links to the songs on Youtube so may be a bit fiddly. Reality of War – 20200423
You may need to “Enable external content” to play these videos. Give the songs time to load before clicking the Play arrow.
The Powerpoint file has been converted into other forms to help make it accessible to more visitors.
- I have turned that into a PDF file ( ANZAC-2020-04 ). Click on the song titles to view those on YouTube. (This is the smallest download.)
- Finally there is a video ( ANZAC-2020 ). If you can access the video this may be the best way to get the full affect. This video runs for about 30 minutes including several songs and may take a couple of minutes to download.
PG Parental Guidance is essential as this presentation is discussing war and the sad truth and horrors of that cannot – at least should not – be ignored.
NB These files are fairly large and may take some time to download depending upon your internet connection.
The PDF file is the smallest and quickest to download although the frame quality is disappointing.
